Shinedown Members Brent Smith and Zach Myers Releasing More Acoustic Cover Songs
Shinedown’s Brent Smith and Zach Myers to release acoustic cover versions of songs by Adele, Bon Jovi, Phil Collins and Pearl Jam
Shinedown frontman Brent Smith and guitarist Zach Myers released their debut EP, “Acoustic Sessions,” as Smith & Myers in January, and now, they’re ready to do it again. At the time of the first EP’s release, four of the songs Smith and Myers had wanted to include were not yet cleared for sales. After weeks of doing the paperwork, all but one of these tunes – Pearl Jam’s hit rock song “Black” – have been approved and make up the duo’s new EP, appropriately named “Acoustic Sessions Part 2.”
“Acoustic Session Part 2” is out today (March 18). The track list includes “Someone Like You” (originally performed by Adele), “Wanted Dead or Alive” (originally performed by Bon Jovi), “In the Air Tonight” (originally performed by Phil Collins) and “Black” (originally performed by Pearl Jam), the latter for only for online streaming.
Smith and Myers’ last acoustic covers EP included songs by the Clash (“London Calling”), Otis Redding (“Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay”), Metallica (“Nothing Else Matters”), Black Crowes (“She Talks to Angels”), Kenny Wayne Shephard (“Blue on Black”) and Soul Asylum (“Runaway Train”).
