Slash Finished with New Album
Slash has completed work on his upcoming album with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators
Slash’s new album is finished. In a message posted on celebrity social media website WhoSay, Slash posted a photo featuring chart of songs, all crossed out, with the caption that reads, “Recording of the next LP is finished! These are all working titles fyi. Except for 1.”
A few of those working titles include “Noho Blues,” “I Wanna Pull Your Hair,” “Rhapsody in B,” “Fast G Rocks” and “Dirty Girl.”
The former Guns N’ Roses guitarist’s upcoming album will be his third with Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy on vocals and the Conspirators serving as the backup band.
According to a blog post from Conspirators bass player Todd Kerns last January, the new songs have a different vibe than what the guys recorded for their last album, 2012’s “Apocalyptic Love.” “The material on this album is more serious and more fun at the same time, which is a tough balance indeed,” he wrote. “The songs are sleazier, tougher and more dangerous.”
Apocalyptic Love debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart when it was released, selling 38,000 copies in its first week out.
Slash has yet to announce a title or release date for the new album, but he and Aerosmith are confirmed to set off on a co-headlining tour this summer called Let Rock Rule. The tour will kick off July 10 at a gig in Wantagh, N.Y., and travel through a handful of major cities before wrapping up Sept. 12 at a concert in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
