R.E.M. Announce Details for ‘Unplugged: The Complete 1991 and 2001 Sessions’ CD and Digital Release

R.E.M.’s ‘Unplugged: The Complete 1991 and 2001 Sessions’ will arrive in CD and digital formats on May 19
R.E.M.’s 2014 Record Store Day release, the vinyl edition of “Unplugged: The Complete 1991 and 2001 Sessions,” was a smash and sold out quickly in local shops across the U.S. Now, R.E.M. are making those tunes available on a larger scale, by releasing the set via CD and digital download.
“Unplugged: The Complete 1991 and 2001 Sessions” features R.E.M.’s famed performances on “MTV Unplugged” in 1991 and 2001. Neither performance was released commercially before now, so the double-release is quite a treat for R.E.M. fans.
The music that appeared on the on the four-LP vinyl edition will be released as two-CD set, plus via digital download, on May 19. In addition to the live performances that aired on the group’s “MTV Unplugged” episodes, the release will also feature 11 songs that never aired on the televised programs.
The track listing for “Unplugged: The Complete 1991 and 2001 Sessions” features a collection of R.E.M. classics, such as “Perfect Circle,” “Low,” “Radio Song,” “The One I Love,” “Daysleeper” and “It’s the End of the World as We Know It (and I Feel Fine).”
