The Cure, the National, Weezer Among Chicago and Denver Riot Fest Performers
Riot Fest 2014 will feature a mix of alternative and rock acts in Chicago, Denver and Toronto
Riot Fest is gearing up for 2014, and the festival has announced the lineups for its Chicago and Denver editions. The Chicago version of Riot Fest will happen Sept. 12 through 14 in Humboldt Park, while the Denver edition will happen Sept. 19 through 21 at May Farms in Byer, Colo.
The Cure, the National, Weezer, Wu-Tang Clan, Jane’s Addiction and Slayer are some of the big names announced for the Chicago edition of the festival. Other acts slated to rock Chicago include Glen Danzig’s band Samhain for a big reunion show, the Flaming Lips, Rise Against, the Descendents, Patti Smith, Thurston Moore, Billy Bragg, Tegan and Sara, Failure, Cheap Trick, the Offspring, NOFX, Clutch, Mudhoney, Andrew W.K., the Afghan Whigs, Superchunk, GWAR, Kurt Vile, Mastodon, Buzzcocks, Taking Back Sunday and more.
Meanwhile, Denver will feature many of the same acts playing Chicago, including the Cure, The National, Wu-Tang Clan, Slayer, the Flaming Lips, Weezer, Rise Against, Buzzcocks, Taking Back Sunday, NOFX, Decendents and more.
Riot Fest Toronto happens Sept. 6 through 7 in Downsview Park, and while that lineup has been out for a while, the festival announced the addition of the Cure to its Toronto festival. Other acts playing the Toronto festival include the National, Death Cab For Cutie, Death From Above 1979, the Flaming Lips, Social Distortion, the Afghan Whigs, Paul Weller, Metric, Rise Against, Stars, Dropkick Murphys, Bob Mould, Thurston Moore, Buzzcocks, Glassjaw, and more.
