Filter, Helmet and Local H Plotting North American Summer Tour
Filter are hitting the road this summer in support of their current album, ‘The Sun Comes Out Tonight’
Filter are a bit fed up with today’s so-called alternative music, which often sounds more like mellow folk than edgy alternative. In that spirit, the band has announced summer tour called “The Anti-Folk Revival in Drop-D Tour.”
The trek will set off on June 28 at the Tall Creek Mud and Music Festival in Alberta, Canada, and will wrap up on Aug. 23 in Bismarck, N.D. Fellow rockers Helmet and Local H will join the trek on July 12 and continue for select dates.
“Somehow what used to be heavy, punk, mean music called ‘alternative’ became a rerun of ‘Hee Haw,’” Filter frontman Richard Patrick said in a statement. “Filter, Helmet and Local H will help you get your insanity back. Come and get a proper dose of our thick and rich guitar sounds not a banjo.”
Filter’s latest album, 2013’s “The Sun Comes Out Tonight,” is available now, and the band will drop a previously unreleased track, “The Hand That’s Dealt,” on July 29 via iTunes.
