Zakk Wylde, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and More to Appear on Experience Hendrix Tour
A new leg of the Experience Hendrix Tour will set off in September with Zakk Wylde, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and others
Remember the 2014 edition Experience Hendrix Tour, which hit a handful of U.S. cities last spring? Well, the tour was so successful that they’re doing it again this year with a new round of dates that kick off in Sept. 19 in Clearwater, Fla., and run through an Oct. 18 show in Oakland, Calif.
The lineup for the latest edition of the Experience Hendrix Tour includes some familiar names: Black Label Society frontman Zakk Wylde, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, blues icon Buddy Guy, former Jimi Hendrix bass player Billy Cox, Double Trouble drummer Chris Layton, the Black Crowes’ Rich Robinson and Jonny Lang, to name just a few. More guest performers are expected to be announced closer to the run.
President and CEO of the Experience Hendrix Company, Hendrix’s sister, Janie, says the long-running tour “is testimony to the fact that Jimi continues to connect musicians and audiences, crossing generational and cultural boundaries.”
She added, “It’s our continuing mission to do all we can to celebrate what he’s given us and to keep his music in the forefront. The wonderful musicians on this tour express their love for him in ways that are a direct reflection of the gift he’s given us.”
