Karen O to Support Debut Solo Album, ‘Crush Songs,’ with Short Tour
Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O has announced a handful of tour dates in support of her upcoming solo album, ‘Crush Songs’
Karen O is set to release her solo debut, “Crush Songs,” this fall, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer will promote the new songs with a handful of intimate live shows this fall in New York City, Los Angeles, London and Berlin.
Karen O will hit New York City dates Sept. 9 through 11 and play the McKittrick Hotel’s Manderley Bar, followed by a show Sept. 12 at Le Poisson Rouge. Her Los Angeles dates include a Sept. 17 thought 19 run at the Masonic Lodge. Tickets for both shows will go on sale at 3 p.m. E.T. on Friday (Aug. 15).
“If you’re in the mood for love, please come join my crush odyssey at these limited engagements,” O said in a statement. “I apologize in advance that the shows are so few but I guess that makes them all the more special.”
O’s upcoming album was actually written and recorded in 2006 and 2007, and it captures that period of her life. “When I was 27, I crushed a lot,” she said. “I wasn’t sure I’d ever fall in love again. These songs were written and recorded in private around that time. They are the soundtrack to what is an ever continuing love crusade.”
“Crush Songs” will hit stores on Sept. 9.
