For the first time, Megadeth’s first five albums will be available on vinyl picture disc
Vinyl is all the rage once again, and Megadeth are getting ready to release a vinyl package just in time for Christmas shopping. Universal Music Enterprises will reissues the first five albums from the legendary heavy metallers on Nov. 11 on limited edition vinyl picture disc.
Among the albums that will be available on vinyl are the band’s 1986 debut “Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?,” 1988’s “So Far, So Good…So What!,” 1990’s “Rust in Peace,” 1992’s “Countdown to Extinction” and 1994’s “Youthanasia.”
All five albums will arrive pressed on heavyweight vinyl. Dave Mustaine has remastered mixes of the albums, and the package will feature those new versions as well as the original album track listings.
In other Megadeth news, the band was slated to appear on Motorhead‘s Motorboat Cruise on Sept. 22, but had to cancel due to Mustaine’s health issues. “Due to complications arising from a previous cervical spine surgery, and upon his doctor’s strict recommendations, Dave Mustaine has canceled all performances for the next 8 weeks,” a statement from Megadeth’s camp read, adding, “With rest and treatment, he is expected to recover and resume performing soon. The band was looking forward to the concerts and cruise, and is disappointed that they will not be able to see their fans. Megadeth expect to return to the road and will see their fans soon!”
