Grunge rockers Soundgarden have definitely stayed busy this summer, thanks to a massive co-headlining tour with fellow ’90s types Nine Inch Nails. But apparently, that tour wasn’t enough, because Chris Cornell and the guys also helped ring in the 2014 NFL season last week with a pre-show Thursday (Sept. 4) in their home base of Seattle. The group played a brief set before the game kicked off, and in the end, the Seattle Seahawks took down the Green Bay Packers in a 36-16 win.
The show’s set included fan favorites such as “Spoonman,” “Outshined,” “My Wave,” “Been Away Too Long” and “Rusty Cage.” Watch a fan-filmed video of the performance below. The NFL show also featured appearances by Pharrell and Ariana Grande.
In other Soundgarden news, the band recently finished up their Nine Inch Nails run, and next up, they’ll appear as headliners on the 2015 Soundwave Festival in Australia.
