‘CSI’ viewers will hear some music from Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi on an upcoming episode

Tony Iommi keeps plenty busy as the lead guitarist for Black Sabbath, but in his downtime, he still manages to work on other endeavors. His latest project involved recording music for the popular TV show “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” which Iommi announced on his official Facebook page.

“People have been asking what exactly I’m doing at the moment, well I’m getting back in the studio having tried to make myself rest after the tours,” Iommi states in the post. “I’m writing, mostly just putting ideas down rather than complete songs. I like to create all sorts of moods with my music and then decide later how they might be used.”

He added that one specific piece is for the ‘CSI’ TV series that will be aired on Nov. 9 in the U.S. “I was asked if I’d be interested so I had a look at the footage and came up with an idea they seemed to like,” he explained. “It’s not very long but it was different working with images rather than just music. I’d certainly be up for doing more.”

Black Sabbath fans perhaps remember when the band performed their tune “End of the Beginning” on the “CSI” season 13 finale, which aired in May of 2013.

In other Black Sabbath news, Iommi and the gents plan to record their 20th and final album next year, plus set out on one last tour.
