Foo Fighters are coming closer to the release of their much-anticipated “Sonic Highways” album and the good news keeps coming. Today (Oct. 16), the band released the first single from “Sonic Highways” to radio and the Internet, a daring rock number called “Something From Nothing.” The track keeps with Foo Fighters’ post-grunge sound, while adding a modern edge and raw guitars. You can stream the song below.

On top of the new song, Dave Grohl and the gang have announced that right after this Friday’s (Oct. 17) premiere of the Foos’ HBO documentary series, “Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways,” the band will live-stream their concert from Chicago’s The Cubby Bear via Facebook. Foo Fighters are also promoting “Sonic Highways” by serving as musical guests all this week on “The Late Show with David Letterman.”

“Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways” will premiere on at 11 p.m. ET on Oct. 17 on HBO. The show will document the Foos as they travel around the country, recording their new album, “Sonic Highways.” The album will reach all the usual outlets on Nov. 10.
