Mastodon, Green Day and the Flaming Lips Announce Record Store Day Black Friday Releases
Mastodon, Green Day and the Flaming Lips will offer exclusive releases on Black Friday
Black Friday is a little over a month away, and Record Store Day is ready. Each year, Record Store Day’s Black Friday releases offer exclusive music available only at your locally-own record shop.
Mastodon, Green Day and the Flaming Lips are a few rock bands planning to release Record Store Day Black Friday releases.
Mastodon will unleash “The Motherload” single on a 12-inch picture disc, which will be limited to 5,000 copies. The B-side on the vinyl will offer an instrumental version of “Halloween.”
Green Day and the Flaming Lips will both re-release material on vinyl. Green Day will release “Tune in Tokyo,” a 2001 Green Day live recording from Japan, on transparent blue vinyl. Meanwhile, the Flaming Lips will unleash “Atlas Eets Christmas,” the band’s 2007 Christmas album, as “Imagene Peise,” on transparent red vinyl. Like the Mastodon release, both of these offerings will be limited to 5,000 copies.
Record Store Day’s Black Friday releases will arrive on Nov. 28. The day is a compliment to Record Store Day, which takes place the second Saturday every April.
