R.E.M. are remembering the ‘80s with a new singles collection

R.E.M. recorded 11 singles with I.R.S. Records between 1983 and 1988, including some of the classic alternative pop band’s most popular hits. Now, the group is releasing all of them as part of a new, boxed set of vinyl seven-inch singles called “7IN-83-88.”

The collection will include chart-topping alternative songs such as “Radio Free Europe,” “Driver 8” and “It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine),” as well as two U.K. releases that will be available on seven-inch vinyl for the first time: “Finest Worksong”/”Time After Time” (live) and the double-pack “Wendell Gee” with “Crazy” and “Ages of You” with “Burning Down.” The singles will also all arrive with replicas of their original picture sleeves.

“7IN-83-88” will reach stores and online outlets on Dec. 9.
