Hawk Nelson to Release New Album, ‘Diamonds’
Hawk Nelson’s seventh studio album, ‘Diamonds,’ will arrive in March
Christian pop-rock act Hawk Nelson have announced they will release their seventh studio album, “Diamonds,” on March 17 via Fair Trade Services. The release marks the band’s second album with frontman Jon Steingard. This time around, Hawk Nelson is fleshed out by new guitarist Micah Kuiper, new drummer David Niacaris and founding member and bass player Daniel Biro. The album’s first single, “Drops in the Ocean,” is currently streaming via “YouTube.“
“It’s hard to imagine that just a few short years ago, we in Hawk Nelson were questioning if it was time to throw in the towel or to advance in a whole new direction,” Biro said in a statement. “We were looking for hope. Encouraged by fellow artists in the industry, ‘Made’ was a big first step. And after ‘Words’ helped to crack the door open again, it’s ‘Diamonds’ that really delivers in a big, new way.”
He added, “I’m just so proud of (new singer) Jon and the guys. It’s a great sounding record full of huge, catchy and singable songs. And remember, we’re just getting started.”
“Diamonds” will mark the follow-up to 2013’s “Made,” which debuted at No. 2 on the iTunes Christian and gospel charts.
In other Hawk Nelson news, the band will hit the road on the Compassion International Tour this spring, which they will co-headline with the Afters. For more on the tour, visit Hawk Nelson’s official website.
