Lenny Kravitz to Join Katy Perry on Super Bowl Halftime Show
Lenny Kravitz will add some rock edge to the 2015 Superbowl Halftime Show alongside Katy Perry
It’s no secret that Katy Perry will perform on the halftime show at the Super Bowl this February, but it has been kept under wraps who will perform alongside Perry. For a while, it was rumored Pharrell Williams would play the gig with Perry, but as it turns out, longtime rocker Lenny Kravitz has been selected as her stage mate.
The NFL confirmed the pairing, tweeting, “Joining @KatyPerry during her @pepsi @superbowl #halftime show on @SNFonNBC? Mr @LennyKravitz. Feb 1 can’t come soon enough!”
Like last year’s pairing of pop star Bruno Mars with rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kravitz’s addition to the bill will add some rock attack to the halftime show. The game is set for Feb. 1 in Glendale, Ariz. Previous halftime performers over the years have included Madonna and Nicki Minaj, Beyonce and her Destiny’s Child bandmates and the Black Eyed Peas and Slash.
Perry, quote appropriately, has an appearance scheduled Monday (Jan. 12) on NBC’s “Today” show. It’s the perfect opportunity for her to give more details on Kravitz’s involvement with the halftime show and what to expect.
