Some heavy names have contributed songs to the new ‘Game of Thrones’ mixtape

The upcoming soundtrack to the “Game of Thrones” mixtape, the “Catch the Throne: The Mixtape Vol. 2,” will feature a collection of heavy music favorites. Killswitch Engage, Anthrax and Mastodon are among the metal and rock bands who will contribute an original song to the soundtrack. The songs were all inspired by the happenings during last year’s fourth season of the HBO series.

Killswitch Engage are previewing their “Catch the Throne” tune with a 15-second teaser of their new track, “Loyalty,” via YouTube.

“Catch the Throne: The Mixtape Vol. 2” will arrive March 17. What’s really great for fans is that the mixtape will be free via Soundcloud.com/CatchtheThrone. Those who missed the first volume of the mixtape series will find it streaming on Soundcloud.

“Game of Thrones” will kick off its much-anticipated fifth season April 12 on HBO.
