Jack White’s Third Man Records has signed with Consortium Book Sales & Distribution

Jack White‘s Third Man Records has inked a deal with Consortium Book Sales & Distribution. White and company plan to start manufacturing and selling books, in addition to all their music offerings.

“Third Man Books will continue in the manufacture and sale of beautiful things. Those things being books,” co-founders Chet Weise and Ben Swank said in a statement. “Much like the identity of our multiple Grammy-winning record label, Third Man Books will be based on adventure, bordering on recklessness, yet bound by craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.”

The new division, Third Man Books, hopes to publish literary fiction, contemporary poetry, photography collections and biographies. They also plan to release audio and visual components to go with the books.

Third Man Records, which is based in Nashville, Tenn., is already successful in marketing and selling vinyl, so if anyone can sell books in the publishing realm these days, it’s them. White’s latest solo album, “Lazaretto,” was recently named the highest-selling vinyl album of 2014 and the highest-selling vinyl record of the past 20 years.
