Rolling Stones’ ‘Sticky Fingers’ Reissue Moved to June 9
The Rolling Stones are delaying the release of their ‘Sticky Fingers’ reissue because of a zipper problem
This is a big year for the Rolling Stones. The legendary rock and rollers already announced tour dates for a 15-city North American tour called the “Zip Code” tour, scheduled for this summer. The Stones are also set to release new reissues of their classic 1971 album “Sticky Fingers,” but fans will have to wait a bit longer for that fancy collection, as the release has been delayed two weeks, from May 26 to June 9.
So, why the delay? The Stones say that some versions of the remastered release featuring real, handmade zippers are taking more time to manufacture than expected.
The “Sticky Fingers” reissue will be available in a bevy of formats and arrangements. A few of the different formats include a DVD with footage of the Stones playing a 1971 London club show; a Super Deluxe Edition box set with bonus tracks, alternate takes, studio outtakes and live recordings; a seven-inch vinyl single featuring “Wild Horses” and “Brown Sugar”; a 120-page limited-edition hardcover book; and a model cutout of the group.
