The Gaslight Anthem Announce Break to Pursue Other Projects
The Gaslight Anthem are signing off, for now
The Gaslight Anthem will take a break after they wrap up their European tour in August. The New Jersey guys broke the news via a Facebook post and added they will be working on other projects with the extra time.
“We’re all going to do other projects and stay active in some way or another, both in and out of music, but we’d like to step away from the band until we decide what we’d like to do next,” the band says in the post. “We’d like to recharge and take a step back until we have something we feel excited about rather than going right back to making a record just for the sake of making the next record.
They added, “We all feel this is the best decision we can make and it feels like the right one for us.”
The Gaslight Anthem’s latest album, “Get Hurt,” arrived last year and entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 4.
The post finishes with a note of gratitude to the band’s fans: “Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our band for the last eight years, and we’ll see you down the road!”
The Gaslight Anthem’s European tour will close out on Aug. 30 at the U.K.’s Reading Festival.
