Deftones Cancel European Tour Due to Paris Attacks
Following the deadly terrorist attacks in Paris, Deftones have canceled their remaining European tour dates
Deftones are among the many bands whose touring plans have been altered due to the tragic terrorist attacks in Paris Friday night (Nov. 13). Some of the members of Deftones were actually at the Bataclan concert venue when the attack took place during the Eagles of Death Metal concert. Deftones were slated to play the same venue for the next three nights: November 14 through 16.
Following the attacks, Deftones cancelled all of the Paris shows, as well as other European dates in the U.K. and Germany.
“Much has been said, as well as seen, on every media outlet about the events in Paris,” the band said last weekend in a statement. “Some of us were in attendance at the Le Bataclan, and the rest of our family, just blocks away on this night. We have been to Paris many, many times, and we’ve had some of the most amazing shows in this tremendously electric city.”
The statement continued, “With this being said, and with our deepest condolences, love and respect to everyone affected, and to all of us who share this planet, we must return home to our loved ones. We will return when appropriate.”
Deftones have stated there will be more information regarding the cancelled concerts and how fan can go about getting refunds for their tickets soon. For more information, visit www.deftones.com.
