Zakk Wyle to Head Up Generation Axe Tour

The Generation Axe tour will bring together five notable guitarists

Here’s a creative name for a tour: the Generation Axe tour. It’s a real thing, and the tour is set to include guitar great Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society, along with fellow guitar royalty Steve Vai, Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt, Yngwie Malmsteen and Tosin Abasi.

The tour will kick off on April 5 in Seattle and run through a May 8 date in Providence, Rhode Island. At each tour stop on the Generation Axe tour, the five guitarists will take the stage together in different configurations, including as one superstar band. The guitarists will play tunes from their individual catalogs of music, plus cover songs and new music penned just for this tour.

In other news, Wylde will release his new solo album, “Book of Shadows II,” on April 8. The former Ozzy Osborune guitarist is also playing the Experience Hendrix tour.
