Guns N’ Roses Rep: It’s ‘Untrue’ Axl Rose-Headed AC/DC Will Open on GN’R’s Tour
A rep for GN’R denies rumors AC/DC will open on the band’s upcoming tour
There’s been lots of chatter about the rumor that Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose will fill in for AC/DC’s Brian Johnson on the band’s upcoming rescheduled tour dates and that AC/DC will open on GN’R’s upcoming tour, with Rose on vocals. Well, don’t be so quick to believe it.
A representative for Guns N’ Roses has stated to ABC Radio that a new TMZ article asserting AC/DC will open for Guns N’ Roses on the upcoming GN’R reunion tour, with Rose fronting AC/DC, is “absolutely untrue.” The TMZ article reported that Rose was photographed reportedly leaving the same Atlanta rehearsal studio as AC/DC.
AC/DC’s 2016 “Rock or Bust” tour was postponed due to Johnson facing a serious hearing problem. The guys have stated they will reschedule those tour dates with a fill-in vocalist.
In other news, Guns N’ Roses have announced the cities they will tour on the upcoming run, but with no information on the dates or venues. The list includes 21 North American cities, including New York, Dallas, Detroit, Nashville, Boston and Atlanta. For the full list, go here.
