Metallica are solidifying their Record Store Day plans
Record Store Day is inching closer and closer, and Metallica are fleshing out their plans to celebrate all things vinyl on the day. The metal band will perform at an actual record store – Rasputin Music in Berkeley, California – on Record Store Day 2016, which falls on April 16.
“Getting loud, noisy and sweaty at Rasputin’s on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley transports Metallica right back to the core of its Bay Area beginnings,” drummer Lars Ulrich said in a statement. “We can’t wait to celebrate Record Store Day while shaking up the East Bay old-school style.”
Fans who want to catch a glimpse of the in-store show must visit Rasputin Music in Berkeley now through April 10 and enter a raffle for tickets. Those who are members of Metallica’s Met Club may also enter to win tickets at the band’s official website.
Metallica are the official ambassador of Record Store Day 2016. The guys will also unleash a live CD, titled “Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, Metallica! – Live at Le Bataclan. Paris, France – June 11th, 2003” on Record Store Day. Other artists slated to release Record Store Day exclusives include Linkin Park, Disturbed, Bring Me the Horizon and Halestorm, among others.
In other news, Metallica have been tapped to perform at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, the new home of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, this August.
