The Misfits to Reunite at Riot Fest
Glen Danzig is reuniting with the Misfits
Here’s a reunion that few expected to ever see. The Misfits are set to reunite with Glenn Danzig as their singer at Riot Fest 2016. Confirmed to hit the stage are Danzig, bass player Jerry Only and guitarist Doyle. The reunion, which is being called “The Original Misfits,” will happen at both Riot Fest Denver and Riot Fest Chicago this fall. The band has yet to announce who will be on drums for the shows.
This performance has been a long time coming. The last time Danzig, Only and Doyle performed together was on Oct. 29, 1983. After the breakup, Danzig and Only had some legal battles over the recording rights to the Misfits’ catalog, which was eventually resolved. It sounds like they decided to patch things up while they’re still young enough to do a full-fledged reunion.
The Misfits’ first reunion will take place at Denver’s Riot Fest and Rodeo, schedule for Sept. 2 and 4. The second run will happen at Chicago’s Riot Fest and Carnival, set for Sept. 16 and 18.
Riot Fest’s full lineup will be announced next week.
