Watch 82-Year-Old Man Rock Drowning Pool’s ‘Bodies’ on ‘America’s Got Talent’
Drowning Pool’s ‘Bodies’ gets a makeover from 82-year-old John Hetlinger
It’s a performance that certainly has America’s attention. Last week, 82-year-old John Hetlinger performed a high-octane rendition of Drowning Pool’s classic hard rock anthem “Bodies” on reality talent show “America’s Got Talent.” The performance has gone viral, as they say, and currently has more than 5 million views on YouTube.
Hetlinger lives in Broomfield, Colorado, and is a retired aerospace engineer. At one point, he worked on the team that made repairs to the Hubble telescope. During his interview on “America’s Got Talent,” he told the judges that auditioning for the show “would be probably the high point of my life.”
The clip below shows how shocked the audience was to see Hetlinger thrust into Drowning Pool’s “Bodies.” Most of them seem to appreciate his passionate take on the rock tune. (I think he does a great job and stays true to the original.)
Meanwhile, the guys of Drowning Pool are on tour all summer, and you can bet their shows will include performances of “Bodies.” View the band’s current itinerary via their official website.
