Radiohead’s Thom Yorke Performs at U.K. Garden Party
Thom Yorke showed up at his neighbors’ garden party and played some Radiohead tunes
Imagine this: You’re at a small, outdoor gathering, and Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke shows up to play a few tunes. That’s what happened in Yorke’s hometown of Oxford in the U.K. last weekend. The Radiohead singer made a spontaneous appearance at his neighbor’s garden party and performed an acoustic set, which included an unplugged rendition of the group’s In Rainbows tune, “Reckoner.” A clip of the surprise show is streaming now via YouTube.
This isn’t the first time Yorke has pulled a surprise appearance. He showed up at Glastonbury festival in 2011 and randomly performed a DJ round at a crashed airplane fuselage.
In other news, Yorke and Radiohead will tour the U.S. this summer doing headlining shows in major markets, such as New York City’s Madison Square Garden and the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Radiohead’s latest studio album, “A Moon Shaped Pool,” dropped digitally in May and will be released on physical formats Friday (June 17).
