Prog-rock band Tool have announced a handful of new 2016 tour dates

Here’s good news for Tool fans looking for any signs that the band is active. The Maynard James Keenan-fronted band, which has been playing sporadic shows and tours for the past few years but nothing consistent, has announced it will headline the Monster Energy Aftershock festival in Sacramento, California’s Discovery Park, which runs Oct. 22 and 23, and New Orleans Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, set for Oct. 28 through 30. Arcade Fire will also headline the annual music festival.

One of Keenan’s other bands, Puscifer, will also perform at Voodoo, as well as Cage the Elephant, Band of Horses, Foals, Mutemath, Kevin Gates, Bob Moses, Snails, Nothing But Thieves, the Pretty Reckless and Wild Belle, among others. Aftershock will also feature performances from Avenged Sevenfold, Primus, Korn, Slayer, Disturbed and more.

For information on the New Orleans Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, head to VoodooFestival.com. For Aftershock, visit AftershockConcert.com.

In other Tool news, the band has announced a handful of 2016 tour dates around the same time as their Voodoo appearance. The band will perform in Salt Lake City on Oct. 24; Denver on Oct. 26; and Little Rock, Arkansas on Oct. 28. For ticket details, visit ToolBand.com.

As for a new Tool album, we’re still waiting on that, guys. The band’s last album, “10,000 Days,” arrived in 2006.
