Corey Taylor to Guest on New Korn Album
Korn’s 12th studio album will feature an appearance from Corey Taylor
The nu-metal guys of Korn are back in business, as they’ve got a load of festival tour dates lined up for this summer and fall plus are in the midst of finishing up work on their upcoming, 12th studio album. When it comes to the new release, Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer says the set will feature a guest appearance from one of modern rock’s biggest vocalists: Stone Tour and Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor.
“We have Corey singing on one track and it’s going to be a fan favorite because he really lets loose,” Munky told U.K. magazine Metal Hammer.
Expect the upcoming Korn album to be heavy, too. “On a heaviness scale of one to 10 with 10 being (Korn’s) 1994 self-titled, this album is a definite nine,” Munky said.
The Taylor-Korn collaboration isn’t a surprise. After all, Korn and Taylor’s band Slipknot have been on the road together this summer, doing a co-headlining outing. While the gang was on tour in London, the two groups got together to perform a live cover of the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage.”
Next up, Korn will embark on a co-headlining run with Rob Zombie July 19 in Englewood, Colorado. For tour information, visit the band’s website.
