Green Day: North American Tour Dates and Billie Joe Armstrong on the Big Screen
News of Green Day tour dates and a movie coming out with frontman Billie Joe Armstrong
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is delving into acting. Armstrong stars in an upcoming film called Ordinary World, which is due out in theaters and on-demand on Oct. 14. He also penned a song for the film, named after the movie’s title.
Ordinary World stars Armstrong as a former punk rockers named Perry, whose band has been on “indefinite hiatus” for 10 years. As the movie unfolds, Perry’s wife, played by actress Selma Blair, forgets about his 40th birthday, so he decides to put together a huge party for himself in a New York City hotel. Directed by Lee Kirk directed Ordinary World, and the film also stars Judy Greer, Chris Messina and Fred Armisen.
In other news, Green Day’s new album Revolution Radio is set to hit store shelves and online platforms on Oct. 7. Before then, Armstrong and the boys of Green Day will perform at the World Cup of Hockey Celebration of Champions, to honor Canada’s 2016 Olympic team. That event is scheduled for Sept. 23 in Toronto’s Distillery District.
