Linkin Park Share Bongo-Heavy Studio Footage
Linkin Park play with bongos in a new studio clip
There’s no denying that plenty of buzz surrounds Linkin Park’s upcoming album. The guys released their last studio album, “The Hunting Party,” back in 2014, and it wasn’t long after the release that fans started asking, again, for new music. (Hey, 2003’s “Meteora” is my favorite Linkin Park album and probably always will be, but I’ve been consistently impressed with their releases over the years, so bring on the new music.)
All year, the guys of Linkin Park have been kept fans updated on new music through studio updates and social media posts. Now, they have a new bit of news about the new tunes.
Linkin Park’s latest update comes in the form of a video showing the group jamming together in the studio on interesting instruments, to say the least. The clip, which is posted on the band’s official YouTube page and called “Studio Moments: Bongo Band Jam,” shows drummer Rob Bourdon playing the bongos and multi-instrumentalist and rapper Mike Shinoda playing piano. It’s not a sound we’re used to hearing from Linkin Park—it sounds pretty mellow compared to their “Hybrid Theory” hits.
“Hope you like our new direction,” Shinoda said on Twitter. Thankfully, he was joking.
Linkin Park’s new album is slated to arrive in early 2017.
