The Killers Announce Christmas Singles Compilation
The Killers’ new Christmas singles compilation benefits the (RED) campaign
The Killers have a tradition of releasing Christmas singles to benefit charity each year, and now, the Las Vegas alternative rockers have collected those Christmas singles and put them into a single compilation.
The album, called “Don’t Waste Your Wishes,” packs all 10 of the group’s previously released holiday-themed tracks, as well as a new, holiday cover version of Bing Crosby’s “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” “Don’t Waste Your Wishes” is available for download now via iTunes.
The version of the Killer’s “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” features a spoken word introduction from singer Brandon Flowers discussing how his grade school teacher Ned Humphrey Hansen enlightened him about the Christmas standard. Then, Flowers and Hansen sing a duet of the familiar tune.
“Don’t Waste Your Wishes” features some famous guest performers, including Elton John and Jimmy Kimmel. All funds raised from the sales of the album will go to the (RED) campaign, which helps fight HIV/AIDS around the world.
