Tool to Headline 2017 Governors Ball
Tool news for 2017
We’ve had plenty of A Perfect Circle news this year, including the band booked to perform at a range of 2017 music festivals and possibly release new music, but Maynard James Keenan’s other band has some good news for the New Year, too. Tool will return to New York City for the first time in more than a decade to headline the 2017 Governors Ball festival, which will take place from June 2 through 4 on Randall’s Island Park.
Other performers for this edition of the Governors Ball include Lorde, Phoenix, Cage the Elephant, the Head and the Heart, Royal Blood, Phantogram, Franz Ferdinand, the Strumbellas, Judah & the Lion, Saint Motel and Bleachers. The guys of Tool are actually a bit of a strange fit on the bill, since they’re a heavier band than the other alt-rock types booked for the Governors Ball.
Tickets for the event will go on sale beginning Friday (Jan. 6) at noon ET. For information and the full lineup, head to GovBall.com.
In other Tool news, the band was also recently announced to perform at the 2017 Boston Calling Festival. That will take place from May 26 through 28 at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Boston.
As for A Perfect Circle, they’re currently booked to perform at this year’s Carolina Rebellion, Welcome to Rockville and Fort Rock. They also recently announced they will tour the U.S. this spring.
