Metallica and Lady Gaga Share Grammy Rehearsal Footage
Watch was the Metallica, Lady Gaga Collaboration would have sounded like without technical issues
Remember Metallica’s recent Grammy performance with Lady Gaga, which didn’t go quite as planned? Well, the band along with Lady Gaga have shared footage of their dress rehearsal for their now infamous Grammy performance of “Moth into Flame,” and it actually shows what the performance would have looked like if all had gone as planned. James Hetfield’s microphone works perfectly in the footage. Watch the dress rehearsal footage now on Lady Gaga’s YouTube page and below.
“Before the mics went out on live TV, we had a #GRAMMYs dress rehearsal with @ladygaga that was just ON FIRE!,” Metallica stated on Twitter. As for the real Grammy performance, you probably recall that Hetfield’s microphone wasn’t working during the start of the song, so after giving the mic a few tries, he made the move to share Gaga’s mic.
During an interview on “The Late Late Show” a few days following the Grammy Awards, Metallica Lars Ulrich said that Hetfield was “livid” after Metallica’s Grammy set wrapped up.
In other news, Metallica recently announced a North American tour of stadiums this spring and summer to promote their latest studio album, “Hardwired…to Self-Destruct.” The trek will kick off May 10 in Baltimore.
