Seether, Shinedown, Korn + More Set for Rise Above Fest
Seether’s 2017 Rise Above Fest has booked Shinedown, Korn, Stone Sour and more
Seether’s annual Rise Above Fest has been announced for July 22 through 23 in Bangor, Maine. Among this year’s headlines are, of course, Seether, as well as Shinedown and Korn. This year is the fifth year for Rise Above Fest. Seether kicked off the annual music festival 2012 to raise money funds for and awareness of suicide prevention and mental illness.
The name of the festival, “Rise Above This,” comes from the Seether track by the same name, in which frontman Shaun Morgan speaks to his brother, who committed suicide several years ago.
“It’s unbelievable we’re in our fifth year of Rise Above Fest,” Morgan said in a statement. “We started this out as a way to give back and raise awareness. To have created something that our friends and fans believe in is really humbling.”
In addition to the aforementioned headliners, the 2017 Rise Above Fest bill will bring appearances from an A-list roster of modern rock talent, including Skillet, Stone Sour, Halestorm, HELLYEAH, Pop Evil, Falling in Reverse, Red Sun Rising, All That Remains, Starset, Theory of a Deadman and Avatar.
