U2 Ready ‘The Joshua Tree’ Reissue
U2 will reissue their famed ‘The Joshua Tree’ album in several formats in June
U2’s famed album “The Joshua Tree” just passed its 30th anniversary, and in honor, the Irish rock group is making plans to reissue the landmark album in a variety of formats on June 2. A number of the releases will be deluxe vinyl box and CD sets that pack B-sides, rarities, live footage and remixed tracks.
U2’s “The Joshua Tree” CD super deluxe collection will include four CDs: a remastered edition of the original album, a CD of audio from a 1987 show at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, a disc of 2017 remixes a handful of “Joshua Tree” songs and a CD with B-sides, rarities, outtakes and alternate mixes.
The super deluxe collection also includes an 84-page hardback book of never-before-seen photographs taken by the Edge in 1986 at U2’s “Joshua Tree” photo session in the Mojave Desert, as well as eight prints of photos taken by famed photographer Anton Corbijn.
The super deluxe box set will also be available in vinyl with the same CD set contained on seven LPs, plus the photo book and prints. For those who would rather keep it simple, standard CD and LP version will also be available, plus a two-CD deluxe edition with the original album and the live CD. All of the releases will also be available digitally.
In touring news, U2 will kick off their North American tour in honor of the 30th anniversary of “The Joshua Tree” on May 12 in Vancouver, Canada. That run will wrap up July 1 in Cleveland.
