Tool, Primus + the Melvins Announce New Concert

Story by Charles Ken
Tool, Primus and the Melvins are teaming for an early summer West Coast gig
The summer Tool tour dates just keep coming, and fans certainly aren’t complaining. The prog-rock band has announced a new headlining gig at Glen Helen Amphitheater in Southern California along with Primus, a “special” guest that’s yet to be announced, the Melvins and DJ sets by the Crystal Method. That gig is set for June 24.
The venue for the gig, Glen Helen Amphitheater, is located right under the picturesque San Bernardino Mountains in Devore, California, not far from Los Angeles. Sounds like a Tool fan’s dream come true.
Tickets for the new show date go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. PT Thursday (April 13) via www.Ticketmaster.com. The show is produced by Danny Wimmer Presents and Live Nation Los Angeles.
The new show date falls right about Maynard James Keenan and company’s previously scheduled summer North American tour, which has been selling out in minutes.
In other news, it’s no secret Tool are working away on their highly anticipated fifth studio album. The upcoming release will mark the band’s first since 2006’s “10,000 Days.” Maynard James Keenan’s other band, A Perfect Circle, is currently on the road for a North American spring tour.
