Five Finger Death Punch Singer Ivan Moody Thanks Fans for Support
Ivan Moody will be back with Five Finger Death Punch for the next U.S. leg of their tour
Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch has released a statement thanking fans and apologizing to them for their support after he dropped off the group’s European tour last month. Moody left the tour to take time to deal with his ongoing fight with addiction.
“I wanted to write to all of you and express my deep regret for not being able to finish the last few shows on our European summer tour,” Moody wrote.
Moody’s last show with Five Finger Death Punch was in Tilburg, The Netherlands. At that gig, he stated, “This is my last show with Five Finger Death Punch.”
“I am in a treatment facility addressing the addiction issues that have interfered with everything in my life,” Moody wrote. “I love you guys and I love my band. It’s what I do and I can’t imagine my life without it. I am 100% committed to getting healthy so I can get back on stage with Five Finger Death Punch.”
As for when Moody will get back with Five Finger Death Punch, it will be soon. He says he plans to be back in the fold for their next leg of tour dates, which starts Aug. 19 in Springfield, Illinois.
“It’s my intention to sing at each and every future show we are committed to, in North America and in Europe,” he added. “I can’t wait to put all of this behind me and move forward.”
After thanking vocalist Tommy Vext for filling in for him on the band’s remaining European tour dates, Moody thanks his band mates in Five Finger Death Punch for “supporting me through these hard times.”
“But most importantly, I’d like to thank you, the fans, for your unwavering support as I recover,” he added. “This has not been an easy year for me, but your encouragement and positivity is what keeps me going.”
