Weezer brings summer-ready set to Mount Pleasant, Michigan

Weezer is the perfect band to see live on a breezy summer night. The Rivers Cuomo-fronted group performed Saturday (July 15) at Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort’s outdoor venue in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and the upbeat power pop mixed with warm weather made for a picturesque summer concert experience.

Weezer – which brings together Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell and Scott Shriner – came up in the ‘90s and stood out with their quirky humor and smart blend of arena rock and catchy punk. Songs such as “Undone (The Sweater Song),” “Buddy Holly,” “Hash Pipe” and “Say It Ain’t So” remain huge rock radio hits, and the gents played those songs and more on Saturday.

“Feels Like Summer,” the latest single from Weezer, mixes the band’s guitar pop with some electronic dance vibes. It’s already a crowd favorite; the audience cheered and swayed along to the tune at Soaring Eagle. “Feels Like Summer” will arrive on Weezer’s upcoming, 11th studio album. The follow-up to last year’s “Weezer (White Album)” is expected to arrive later this year.

The Weezer crew is on the road through the end of October, currently in the U.S. and then overseas in Europe. Find the band’s current roster of tour dates via Weezer.com.
