Judas Priest Announce 2018 Tour Dates, New Album ‘Firepower’
Fans will have plenty of chances to see Judas Priest live in 2018
Judas Priest recently got some greats news in the form of a nomination for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The tally of 2018 inductees will be announced in December, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2018 inductions ceremony will take place in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 14, 2018.
Whether or not Rob Halford and company make it in, fans will have plenty of reasons to celebrate Judas Priest next year. The band has officially announced it will release a new studio album early next year, called “Firepower,” and hit the road on a North American tour behind the album this spring.
The tour, dubbed the Firepower 2018 Tour, will kick off March 13 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and run through a May 1 show in San Antonio, Texas. Some heavy hitters will open on the tour, to boot, as longstanding British metal band Saxon and the Thin Lizzy spin-off Black Star Riders will kick things off on most dates of the tour.
As for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, fans are able to for their favorite nominees at RockHall.com through Dec. 5. The top five acts voted on by fans will comprise a special “fans’ ballot” that will be included with the other Rock Hall ballots. So far, Judas Priest’s toughest competition for the “fans’ ballot” include Bon Jovi, the Cars, the Moody Blues, Dire Straits and Eurythmics.
