Alice Cooper Preps Limited-Edition ‘The Sound of A’ Single

Story by Cat Badra
It may be Christmastime, but Alice Cooper is keeping things creepy in his new video for the song, “The Sound of A.” The video for the track, which appears on the Coop’s 2017 album “Paranormal,” has been released via the earMusic label’s YouTube channel.
The eerie video features Cooper and various men, women and little tykes donning his trademark black facial and eye makeup, as they lip-sync to the song.
Cooper will unleash a limited-edition single featuring “The Sound of A,” as well as four previously unreleased live performances from a May 2016 show in Columbus, Ohio, on Feb. 23 via CD and as a 10-inch white-vinyl record.
The release is something of a birthday celebration for the Coop, who will celebrate his 70th birthday on Feb. 4.
“The Sound of A” is extra special to Cooper because it was the first song he ever wrote by himself in full. Dennis Dunaway, the original Alice Cooper band bass player, brought an old tape of the song to the “Paranormal” sessions, and the two recorded a new version of it for the album.
