Korn Frontman Jonathan Davids to Release a Solo Album in 2018
Korn frontman Jonathan Davis has kept pretty busy in the band over the years, but the singer is on tap to release a new solo album in 2018. Davis confirmed the bit of news during a Facebook Live video that was shot this week, in which he describes the lengthy amount of work that as gone into the upcoming set.
“I’m really excited. I’ve been working on these songs for 10 years, and it’s turned out amazing,” Davis explains in the Facebook live. “So, there’ll be a record coming out next year. I just shot videos yesterday for a couple of songs, and the tour will be next year.”
The upcoming album will mark Davis’ first billed simply as Jonathan Davis. Davis has also released two live albums with his solo band, Jonathan Davis and the S.F.A. As Davis explained in the Facebook Live, Jonathan Davis and the S.F.A. “is no longer. Unfortunately, since Shane’s (Gibson, former Korn touring guitarist and a member of Davis’s solo backing band) passed, that band’s done and it can’t be recreated. So this is J.D. right now.”
In other news, Davis will perform at a handful of European festivals next year, and more tour dates are expected to be announced for 2018. Meanwhile, Korn’s latest studio album is 2016’s “The Serenity of Suffering.”
