Five Finger Death Punch Releases Pummeling New Song, ‘Sham Pain’
‘Sham Pain’ sees Five Finger Death Punch confronting their doubters
Five Finger Death Punch is inching closer to the release of their new album, and the fist-pumping guys have premiered a new song called “Sham Pain.” The hard-charging track, which will arrive on the upcoming album, “And Justice for None,” is available now on all the usual digital platforms.
“Sham Pain,” which follows previously released new track “Fake,” is an anthem of sorts with frontman Ivan Moody addressing his doubters, with lyrics such as, “Laid dagger dead inside a lonely bed / Trying to hide the hole inside my head,” and references to Five Finger Death Punch’s legal dispute with their former record label and Moody’s triumphant battle with addiction.
“‘Sham Pain’ is a lyrical snapshot of probably the biggest, yet most chaotic year of this band’s career,” guitarist Zoltan Bathory explained in a statement. “Everyone has a different way of dealing with the moments when life hands them lemons…some complain and some make lemonade. Us, we pour gasoline on it and then hit it with a rocket launcher.”
“And Justice for None” will arrive May 18. The album will mark the Las Vegas, Nevada, hard rock band’s seventh studio album.
Just ahead of the release, Five Finger Death Punch will embark on a co-headlining tour with Shinedown beginning on May 6 in Nashville, Tennessee. The band will also support “And Justice for None” on co-headlining tour with Breaking Benjamin beginning in July.
