Judas Priest and Deep Purple Announce 2018 Co-Headlining Tour
Two legendary bands, Judas Priest and Deep Purple, will hit the road together this summer and fall
Judas Priest has been on the road for much of this spring with new metal tunes from “Firepower” in hand, and the celebrated British band will continue on tour this fall with another legendary name on the bill. Judas Priest and Deep Purple have announced a special, co-headlining tour kicking of Aug. 21 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and running through a Sept. 30 gig in Wheatland, California.
Judas Priest unleashed their latest studio album, “Firepower,” in Marhc, and the album scored the band their highest-ever chart entry, coming in at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album also features the band’s highest-charting commercial rock radio single in decades with lead single, “Lightning Strike.” Rob Halford and Judas Priest have been rocking it for more than 50 years, with the band’s current lineup also including Glenn Tipton, Richie Faulkner, Ian Hill, and Scott Travis.
Deep Purple released a new studio album, “inFinite,” in April of 2017. The album – produced by the Bob Ezrin, who has worked with everyone from Pink Floyd to Alice Cooper – offered 10 new songs that stayed true to Deep Purple’s classic, ’70s roots.
Tickets for the Judas Priest, Deep Purple tour go on sale to the general public starting at 10 a.m. local time Friday (April 27) via Live Nation. The full tour roster may be viewed below.
