In other news, Mastodon recently closed out a North American tour with Primus. The band will embark on a tour with Dinosaur Jr. in this fall. That trek will kick off Sept. 1 in Canada and run through Sept. 19.
“We are so stoked to be doing a proper Canadian and far North American cities tour with the legendary Dinosaur Jr.,” Mastodon said in a joint statement. “We’ve been talking about it for years and it’s finally happening!! We hope to see you there!!”
Mastodon is touring in support of their latest studio album, 2017’s “Emperor of the Sand.” Last year, the band toured with Eagles of Death Metal, and find exclusive photos and a review of the tour’s Grand Rapids, Michigan, stop here. Mastodon also picked up the Grammy Award last year for Best Metal Performance for their song, “Sultan’s Curse.” It marked the Atlanta metal band’s first Grammy Award win.
