In This Moment to Record New Album in 2019, Says Guitarist
Guitarist Chris Howorth says In This Moment will start recording their follow-up to 2017’s ‘Ritual’ in early 2019
In This Moment has been touring for much of this year with fellow female-fronted rock band Halestorm, and the trek will extend into this fall. That said, new music is certainly on the minds of Maria Brink and company.
In a new interview with Guitar Interactive, guitarist Chris Howorth says that the group is planning to hit the studio to work on a new album in early 2019, probably around February or March.
The album will mark In This Moment’s follow-up to 2017’s “Ritual,” which included the rock singles “Roots” and Oh Lord,” as well as a guest appearance from metal icon Rob Halford.
As for how In This Moment will go about writing music for the new album, Howorth tells Guitar Interactive, “It depends. It could go either way. The last two records we’ve done, we’ve kind of gone in with nothing. Maybe a couple ideas, but really not much, and the whole idea is to create it in the studio, and it’s fresh. That’s what we did last time… but for this next album that we’re getting ready to do, we’re actually working on stuff right now, so that we have more that we know we like…”
Until then, In This Moment will stay on the road with Halestorm and opener New Years Day. The tour is currently scheduled to run though a Dec. 19 date in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
