Def Leppard, Slipknot, Slash + More Set for 2019 Download Festival
The U.K.’s Download Festival will feature Def Leppard performing “Hysteria” in full
The U.K.’s annual Download Festival is known for booking a variety of artists, and 2019 will be no exception. The festival, which is scheduled for June 14-16 in Donington Park, will feature headlining performances from Def Leppard, Slipknot, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Tool, Rob Zombie and Whitesnake.
One thing that will make Download special for Def Leppard fans is that the band will perform their “Hysteria” album in full at the show. That album turned 30 years old in 2017.
Other acts booked for the 2019 festival include Tesla, Die Antwoord, Trivium, Aman Amarth, Carcass, Delain, Me First And The Gimme Gimmes, Opeth, Power Trip, Reel Big Fish, Skindred, Starset the Amity Affliction and Underoath. Additional acts will be announced in the coming months. The 2018 festival featured headlining performances from Avenged Sevenfold, Guns N’ Roses and Ozzy Osbourne.
“We’re incredibly excited to announce three legends as Download 2019 headliners,” festival boss Andy Copping said in a statement. “It’s not quite been 10,000 Days since we have been able to indulge in one of our (favorite) alt-rock bands, but after thirteen years I am thrilled to announce Tool are finally making their long-awaited return to Download. Renowned for being one of the best live bands on the planet due to their one-of-a-kind performances, Slipknot are an incredible addition to the main stage.”
He added, “Last but not least, I am honored to welcome true Rock N’ Roll legends Def Leppard to Download who bring with them a UK exclusive chance to see ‘Hysteria’ played in full.”
