Judas Priest, Guns N’ Roses, A Perfect Circle Among Black Friday Releases
Weezer, A Perfect Circle, Judas Priest and Guns N’ Roses will have special releases out for Record Store Day Black Friday
Record Store Day takes place in local, independently owned record stores each April, but the folks behind the event also offer something during the Christmas season with exclusive Record Store Day Black Friday releases. This year’s Black Friday list has officially been unveiled, and the roster includes a bevy of rock and metal artists.
One of the 2018 releases that will be of interest to metal lovers is Judas Priest’s “Rocka Rolla,” the debut album from heavy metal icons. That release will feature the classic cola bottle cover, this time on “cola bottle green” 180g vinyl with a raised, embossed cover.
Amid the many other limited-edition vinyl releases are Guns N’ Roses’ original, seven-inch “Shadow of Your Love” single featuring tracks that have only been available in the Locked ‘N’ Loaded box set pressed on red vinyl; a picture disc version of Smashing Pumpkins’ upcoming album, “Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun”; a seven-inch vinyl disc of A Perfect Circle’s new single, “So Long And Thanks For All The Fish,” with a cover of AC/DC’s “Dog Eat Dog” as the b-side.
Also out on Black Friday are a seven-inch of Chris Cornell’s posthumous single “When Bad Doe Good” with Temple of the Dog’s “Stargazer (Live at the Paramount)” as the b-side pressed on white/black marble vinyl and Weezer’s cover of “Africa” by Toto as a picture disc 10″ single pressed in the shape of the country Africa. Other Record Store Day Black Friday special releases are being offered from Talking Heads, the Flaming Lips, Paul McCartney, the Ramones, Hozier, Sublime, Alice Cooper, Violent Femmes, Dio, Goo Goo Dolls, Judas Priest, Joan Jett, Rage Against the Machine, U2, Tom Morello, Guns N’ Roses and more.
The full tally of Record Store Day Black Friday releases is up on Record Store Day’s official website.
