Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters will headline the pre-show for Super Bowl 53 in Atlanta
Foo Fighters have been tapped to perform in Atlanta during one of the biggest sports weekends of the year: Super Bowl weekend. The band will perform at the DirecTV Super Saturday Night concert, set for Feb. 2.
The concert will happen the night before Super Bowl 53 takes place at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Feb. 3. Hip-hop duo Run the Jewels will open the performance.

Foo Fighters recently closed out a U.S. tour to promote their latest album, “Concrete and Gold.” Looking ahead to 2019, Dave Grohl and company have a handful of U.S. dates on their itinerary, including an appearance at the Chris Cornell tribute event on Jan. 16 in Los Angeles.
As for new music, Grohl says the Foos definitely plan to release another album, which will mark their follow-up to 2017’s “Concrete and Gold.”
“I can see the next record– I know that there’s another one there,” Grohl said in a recent interview with Billboard. “I don’t know when, but I think I know what we should do.”
In other news, earlier this month, Grohl went to Los Angeles County Fire Station 68 to visit the firefighters working to put out the horrific California wildfires. While he was visiting, Grohl also cooked some flavorful barbecue for the crew.
