The list of 2019 Rock Hall includes five British bands and two major female artists

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its official list of 2019 inductees in the Performers category, and the list features a mix of rock bands, five of them from Britain, and two major female artists.

The 2019 Rock Hall inductees are Def Leppard, Radiohead, The Zombies, Roxy Music, The Cure, Stevie Nicks and Janet Jackson. The 34th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is set for Saturday, March 29, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

As for the fan vote, Def Leppard, Nicks, The Zombies and The Cure were among the five top picks by fans in the fan poll to get the Rock Hall honors. In addition, three of the Rock Hall nominees were nominated for the first time this year, including Def Leppard, Nicks and Roxy Music.

Nicks’ honor is extra special. When she is inducted into the Rock Hall as a solo artist in 2019, she’ll be crowned the first two-time female inductee, since she was also inducted in 1998 as a band member of Fleetwood Mac.

Nominees were chosen by, “an international voting body of more than 1,000 artists, including current living Inductees, historians and members of the music industry,” states an official Rock Hall press release. “Factors such as an artist’s musical influence on other artists, length and depth of career and the body of work, innovation and superiority in style and technique are taken into consideration.”

Tickets for the 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will go on sale to the general public in January. Pre-sale tickets will be available to those who become part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame membership before to Dec. 31, 2018.
