“Thanks to everyone for their love and concern,” says Sharon Osbroune about fans’ reaction of Ozzy being hospitalized
Metal legend Ozzy Osbourne has hospitalized as he continues to deal with a major case of the flu. After rumors of his hospitalization broke, his wife, Sharon, confirmed his state in a tweed Wednesday. Sharon also reportedly missed a recent taping of her daytime show “The Talk” to stay with Ozzy.
The Black Sabbath frontman’s wife Sharon Osbourne confirmed the news in a tweet on Wednesday (Feb. 6).
“As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to hospital following some complications from the flu,” she stated in the tweet. “His doctors feel this is the best way to get him on a quicker road to recovery. Thanks to everyone for their concern and love.”
It’s been a tough road for Ozzy as of late. Last week, Ozzy was forced to postpone many of his upcoming U.K. tour dates with Judas Priest because of the flu. Following that announcement came more news that he had developed a “severe upper-respiratory infection,” which forced him to postpone the full U.K. and European tour, which was slated to take him into March.
Last year, Ozzy had to postpone some of his U.S. tour dates due to complications with multiple staph infections.
If his health is good enough, Ozzy is still scheduled to kick off a U.S. tour in May with opening act Megadeth. As of right now, Ozzy’s next tour date on the books is March 9 in Australia. For the latest on all things Ozzy, visit Ozzy.com.
